PLAYING IN THE ALEX & LEE STUDIO

April 19, 2012

I just got back from a trip up to Northern California where I worked on a store opening project in San Francisco and then I visited my clients, Greg and Lee, up in Sea Ranch on the coastline.  It was a great trip, lots of work, but also a lot of reward. I’m so excited to share with you pictures of Cavalier by Jay Jeffers, the store project that I worked on with its Creative Director, Michael Purdy.  Until then ( I will share that story next week), I wanted to show you what I was up to in Sea Ranch for the Alex & Lee project.

The artists were approached about a collaboration with a very exciting NYC accessory brand and I spent two days working with them on the color stories, theme and materials that they are going to use.  It was super fun going through all of their drawers and piles of cording to create a vision for this accessory brand.  We set up a huge table outside, turned on the music, and went to town! Take a look below at some of our ideas and stay tuned for more about this exciting project that will be hitting stores in August for the Fall 2012 deliveries.

I was so inspired by color ideas and just love what we pulled together.  The theme for the collection is Indonesian Surfer with deep saturated colors popped with brights and natural elements.  I think we did an awesome job pulling that together for them. Loving all the color!!!!!

These are brushes that polish stones on a machine...loved the texture and the way they were all piled up in the studio.

And all the while I’m working, this is the location of where I am….Sea Ranch, California.  Unbelievable.  I love my life!
