FIRST AID KIT & A COACHELLA STATE OF MIND

April 13, 2012

So it’s Friday, the first day of Coachella, and I’m having serious jealous thoughts about the fact that I am not going to be there this weekend.  I would guess half of Los Angeles county will be there this weekend including many of my friends and I know they are going to have so much fun.  I will be working this weekend on the opening of a new amazing store in San Francisco, Cavalier by Jay Jeffers, and I am really excited to be involved in this creative project.  However, my thoughts today are in the desert and all the music and fashion that I will be missing!

One of the bands that is performing that I have become recently obsessed with is the Swedish folk duo, First Aid Kit .  I love the dreamy quality of their music and their voices harmonize so well together..similar to their style.  The girls look like they live in Joshua Tree or Topanga Canyon which are both my favorite spots in Southern California.   I just ran across photos of them in Joshua Tree filming the video of their song “Emmylou”.  In the video they are sporting paisley prints, crochet, native american blankets, and lace.  Loving all of it!

Everything about them channels the desert and really gets me in a Coachella state of mind.  So for all of you out there who also won’t be at Coachella this weekend, perhaps we can all channel the First Aid Kit girls this weekend and pretend we are there?

We’re sorry to have pulled Miss Sche away from the desert and all of it’s juicy musical and stylistic offerings, but we can’t imagine a better person to help us pull Cavalier by Jay Jeffers together this weekend. Maybe she can catch the performances next weekend.
